Part-Time Accountant (16 hours/week) at SOLIDU
About the Company:
SOLIDU is a VC-backed manufacturer of plastic-free solid cosmetics that operates in Lithuania, the USA, and 20 other worldwide markets. We sell our products through retailers as well as on our own webshop, and we are passionate about creating a better future with our eco-friendly, sustainable cosmetics. We are looking for a part-time accountant to join our team.

Job Summary:
As the sole responsible person for our company’s accounting, you will ensure that we meet all the accounting, taxes, and other laws, and that our financials are organized in the most efficient and tax-effective manner. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of financial statements, tax filing, salaries, and financial reporting. You will work closely with our junior accountant, but the final responsibility will be yours. This is a part-time position, and we expect you to work 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the company’s accounting function, including maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax regulations and filing requirements, including VAT, iSAF, statistics, GPAIS, import duties, and others as necessary.
  • Work with the junior accountant to ensure accurate and timely data entry into the accounting system.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and file financial reports and taxes in a timely manner, and ensure that financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Manage all-salary related paperwork, compliance, and filing to SODRA, and make timely bank payments.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports to investors/shareholders, and collaborate with the founders to prepare cashflow plans and future period balance sheet and P&L plans.
  • Continuously improve our financial processes to ensure the growth of the company doesn’t result in a backlog of accounting, and to ensure easy reporting.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting in Lithuania, with a strong understanding of local accounting regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting tools and programs is essential for this position. We use Erply Books and we will offer full training on the program. However, we are looking for someone who is tech-savvy and able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and programs. After training, we expect you to take charge and quickly improve your skills with Erply Books, constantly developing new ways we can use the program and utilizing its full range of functions beyond what is currently used. We are looking for someone who is proactive in their approach to technology and is committed to staying up-to-date with new accounting tools and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function, while also collaborating effectively with other members of the team.
  • A demonstrated ability to quickly learn about new laws and regulations, and to stay up-to-date on changes to the regulatory environment.
  • A commitment to constantly improving knowledge and skills, and seeking out answers when faced with new or challenging accounting issues.

Compensation: We offer a salary of 1300 EUR before taxes for this part-time position.
