Best solid shampoo I’ve ever tried!
I have been waiting with my review because I really wanted to see how it holds up long term. I have bought “Grandma said” in February, for the last four months it has been the only shampoo I’ve used, and I still have a good chunk left, enough to last me another 1-2 months. I have about chin length, wavy 2a/2b type hair, low porosity, I’d say more on the fine-medium side, and I usually wash it twice a week.
Firstly, this shampoo is just as easy to use as a liquid shampoo, I have no trouble at all distributing it onto my hair and scalp, when working up a lather, it feels a little gritty (from the nettle, I think), but that only serves to give it more body and it really helps freeing my scalp from any buildup. With other solid shampoos, I’ve struggled with buildup and residue at the roots, not with this one, my hair looks healthy and has a lot of volume. I also struggled with an itchy scalp before, this shampoo has helped noticeably with that.
“Grandma said” has a pleasant green, earthy scent.
I’ve been using this in combination with the pink Hair Candy conditioner.

I’ve used this twice now and LOVE it! My hair and skin are very dry and sensitive. There’s no build up on my hair as I always use shampoos from the health shop but I struggled to get one that doesn’t leave my skin and scalp itchy or dry out my hair even more. I did find one (Theorie) but have been unable to get it locally anymore with the lockdowns and buying online isn’t an option as traditional shampoos are big, bulky, heavy and deemed liquids so very expensive to ship. This seemed like the perfect solution plus eliminates plastics which is super important to me at it is. Looking forward to seeing the condition of my hair improve more. Thanks again Vaiva x

The reason why I write my recommendation in english is the fact that I want this brand to be known worldwide. The reason I want this is simple - it is one of my best discoveries of the year. I have lots (I mean lots) of hair and I thought that a solid shampoo will not be convenient for the amount of my hair. Guess what? It is convenient to use. But the greatest part of my experience is the fact, that Grandma said is the best shampoo I have used in my life so far. Shampoo alone does such wonders as if my hair was already washed with some luxorious conditioner. And now I have to add that Hair candy conditioner is amazing too! It makes my hair smooth, soft ant shiny. And I love the thought of no plastic hair cosmetics bottles in my bathroom. You guys rock!

SOLIDU packaging is plastic-free and paper-free: it’s produced from starch, bamboo, and charcoal. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable materials on earth, growing up to metre per day. To make this box, bamboo is processed together with natural starch. The material is dyed with charcoal without using synthetic dyes.
UPCYCLED
To produce SOLIDU box, bamboo offcuts from the production of bamboo chopsticks are used instead of a virgin bamboo.
COMPOSTABLE
The box can be backyard composted and biodegrades in 45 days. It can even be useful for the soil, as starch is a soil nutrient.
PACKAGING END-OF-LIFE
We advise tearing off the paper labels and putting them into recycling bin with paper. They are completely plastic-free, however, the compostable box will biodegrade faster without the paper labels. Put the packaging in the compost bin or in the soil. Do not throw away the box into the garbage bin. If it ends up in the landfill, it will take much longer to biodegrade than in compost or soil.
