SOLIDU solid shampoo GRANDMA SAID makes use of two magical haircare ingredients: stinging nettle and tamanu oil. It intensely moisturizes and conditions, and is perfect for weak hair that needs more volume.
In Lithuania and nearby regions, we have long used stinging nettle decoctions to stimulate hair growth, to improve shine and appearance of hair. To make GRANDMA SAID we use powdered organic nettle leaves.
Native to Southeast Asia, tamanu oil is a great source of hair nutrients, used to regenerate and restore hair and scalp to its healthy state. In GRANDMA SAID we use it cold-pressed and unrefined, very thick in consistency and full of aroma: it naturally smells like freshly cut grass and raw nuts. This brownish-green oil is pressed from tamanu nut and is rich in nutrients (like linoleic, oleic, palmitic and stearic acids). For its properties, tamanu oil is often used on broken, chemically treated and weak hair.
We finish up by adding cedarwood, rosemary, and juniper essential oils that both stimulate your scalp and give GRANDMA SAID shampoo its resinous, woodsy scent.
The product can be used by vegans.
How to use?
Why choose solid shampoo?
Solid shampoos are made from concentrated shampoo ingredients, so they work great for your hair.
You only get the actives, so you don’t pay for water. It also means more compact, cheaper and less polluting transportation.
We don’t use microplastics, silicones or other ingredients that don’t readily biodegrade.
Use the water-free product to the last bit and compost our biodegradable packaging. All that is left is the tiny label, which can be recycled with paper!
Light and easy to carry, no worries about spilled liquids in your bag, no restrictions when packing it in a carry-on on a plane.
One shampoo bar lasts just as long, or even longer than a conventional bottle of shampoo.
SOLIDU packaging is plastic-free as well as paper-free, completely natural, and can be backyard composted in 45 days.
NATURAL & SAFE.
SOLIDU packaging is plastic-free and paper-free: it’s produced from starch, bamboo, and charcoal. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable materials on earth, growing up to metre per day. To make this box, bamboo is processed together with natural starch. The material is dyed with charcoal without using synthetic dyes.
To produce SOLIDU box, bamboo offcuts from the production of bamboo chopstics are used instead of a virgin bamboo.
The box can be backyard composted and biodegrades in 45 days. It can even be useful for the soil, as starch is a soil nutrient. It can even be mixed into animal feed as an additional carbohydrate source.
